Dr. Nancy is a licensed medical doctor with over 20 years of practice experience in the Matamoros area. Since 1997 she has focused her practice in the Matamoros colonias. In addition to overseeing the medical care at Casa Bugambilia, Dr. Nancy makes home visits to colonia residents who aren’t able to reach Casa Bugambilia and coordinates the care of patients with responsible government agencies.

In addition to the Casa Bugambilia albergue, Dr. Nancy is dedicated to establishing a diabetes education, prevention and treatment program at Casa Bugambilia.

Larry’s dedication to the Casa Bugambilia community is one of the primary reasons that services have expanded to touch many more people in need. Larry left a senior executive position with a large consumer products company to dedicate himself to responding in a caring manner to the suffering of colonia residents.

While each day at Casa Bugambilia is unique, any given day might find Larry overseeing construction of expanded care facilities at Casa Bugambilia or home improvements for a colonias resident or coordinating the activities of volunteer mission groups visiting Casa Bugambilia. Dr. Nancy also works closely with community leaders in the communities Casa Bugambilia serves to address the issues of health, food and shelter and everyday listen and respond to the petitions of colonia residents to find out where there are needs and the best way to respond.

Ellen Curnes serves as the Executive Director of Juntos Servimos. She has been involved with Juntos Servimos since its formation in 2004 and served on its Board of Directors from 2005 until her appointment as Executive Director in April 2009. Ellen works out of Dallas, Texas and coordinates the many administrative activities necessary to allow the Casa Bugambilia community to more effectively serve the residents of the colonias. She visits Casa Bugambilia regularly. Ellen is an attorney and has over twenty years experience advising both large and small businesses.
