$20 – Medical consultation and medicine for a colonia resident
$80 - Treatment for a person with diabetes for one week
$120 – One week of care for an albergue patient
$3,000 -- A decent timber frame or concrete block home for a family living in a shack

Medical Consultations
In an area of Matamoros where even a nominal payment of 10 pesos (less than one dollar) for a medical consultation can cause the family to go without food, the provision of consultations, and often times medicine, at no cost is critical. At the Casa Bugambilia facility in the colonia Derechos Humanos and the donated facility in the neighboring colonia Cinco de Marzo, we expect to make more than 5,000 examinations each year. Many are minor cases, but for the more complicated cases, one may expect to be accompanied for the next step of care either by Dr. Nancy or someone else from the Casa Bugambilia community.

Preventive Health Campaigns
With the assistance of volunteer medical professionals, Casa Bugambilia conducts campaigns designed to identify and get early treatment for medical conditions that can become debilitating or even life threatening. In addition to diabetes, screenings have been conducted for cervical cancer. These campaigns will be continued as resources permit due to their effectiveness in detecting and treating problems at an early stage.
