Juntos Servimos - Together We Serve Serving people in need in Mexico by eliminating barriers to physical and spiritual wholeness, one community at a time!
Families surged from southern Mexico to the border in search of better living conditions, but not only were jobs lacking, so was the infrastructure to provide adequate housing for them. For many it was a cruel exchange, giving up their homes in the interior for a cardboard/pallet shack with a dirt (or mud) floor. New colonias continue to form in response to continued migration and crowded conditions in established colonias.

With volunteer groups and the local Matamoros construction crew, led by Federico Gomez, we build small homes, usually 12 feet by 20 feet, of wood or cinder block. Sometimes, living conditions for an individual or family can be substantially raised by a small number of volunteers making improvements to the existing shelter.

Often times, homebuilding improvement projects are undertaken in response to people with disabilities or illnesses. Wheelchair ramps, concrete pathways and similar improvements can substantially ease the burden of a family caring for an individual lacking mobility. New construction, with a concrete floors and new materials, can create a healthier environment for a person suffering from burns or wounds caused by untreated diabetes.
